Over the past five months, I think the most important thing I've learned is that happiness does not come to those who wait.
Happiness comes to those who have the initiative to take it by the collar, shove it against the nearest wall and have their way with it there and then. Happiness comes to those who are willing to struggle for it against all odds, strive for something you know is right even when the world is screaming that it's wrong. Happiness comes to those who come to the realization that today is tomorrow, that the future is the present and that everything - everything - is so utterly insignificant when you boil the universe down to its bare bones that all you can do is what is going to gain you that happiness, even if it means that you have to break yourself over and over again and go a little crazy in the process.
Happiness comes to seventeen-year-old girls who are so in love that it makes their breath catch and their hearts swell with such overwhelming affection that, for a moment and forever, the whole world spins and the only thing that matters is the person across from you who can still make every kiss feel like it's the first.
Je t'aime.
